What is First Light?
First Light is an NDIS-registered ability-support provider covering South-East Queensland. We deliver clinical, coordination, accommodation and daily-living services under one coordinated team.
Are you NDIS-registered?
Yes. We hold NDIS Provider Registration and every worker holds a current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
Which regions do you cover?
Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Ipswich, Cleveland and Toowoomba. If your suburb is not listed on our Locations page, please ask, our footprint grows regularly.
Do you accept new participants right now?
Yes, subject to a short capacity check. We keep our books small on purpose so we can be confident before we say yes.
Which services do you offer?
Eleven services in total: Support Coordination, SDA, NDIS Plan Management, SIL, STA/MTA, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Personal Care & In-Home Supports, Community & Civic Participation, Allied Health Services and Home Care Packages.
Can I use just one service or do I need a bundle?
Just one is fine. Many participants start with a single service (often Coordination or Plan Management) and add more as trust grows.
Do you work with children and adults?
Both. Our clinical teams span paediatric and adult practice.
What is the NDIS?
The National Disability Insurance Scheme funds supports for people with permanent and significant disability. It is designed around individual choice and reviewed as your goals change.
How do I know if I qualify?
Broadly: Australian residency, under 65 at first application, and a permanent disability significantly affecting daily activity. The NDIA makes the final decision, we can help you prepare.
Will Plan Management cost me anything?
No. Plan Management is funded in addition to your other budgets and does not reduce your service hours.
Can I keep providers I already use?
Yes, under Plan Management or Self-Management. Agency-Managed plans are limited to registered providers.
How do I begin?
Send us a message via the contact form, or call us. We book a 20-minute conversation, no plan required in advance. From there we outline a fit assessment and next steps.
Do you charge for the first conversation?
No. Discovery conversations are always free.
How quickly can support start?
For most services, within one to two weeks. SIL and SDA placements depend on availability; we will always be honest about timelines.
How do invoices work?
We invoice at NDIS Price Guide rates. Plan Managers and Self-Managers pay directly; Agency-Managed participants have invoices lodged through the myplace portal.
What are my rights if something goes wrong?
You can raise anything with your coordinator, contact leadership directly, or contact the NDIS Quality & Safeguards Commission at any time. We publish and follow a formal Feedback & Complaints procedure.
How do you handle privacy?
We collect only the information needed to deliver your supports, store it securely, and share it only with your consent or where legally required.
Still have a question?
Ask us anything, we reply within one business day. If your question is common, we will add it here (with your consent).
