Eleven ways we walk beside you.

How we work

Three quiet steps. One coordinated team behind them.

01

Understand

A calm first conversation. We listen, learn your goals, and translate NDIS-speak into a plan you actually recognise.

02

Assemble

We hand-pick your team, clinicians, coordinators, support workers, based on skill, personality and shared interests.

03

Steward

We keep the plan honest. Regular reviews, transparent reporting, quiet advocacy when things need to change.

Why First Light

Craft over volume. Depth over spread.

We keep our roster tight so every relationship gets our attention. Warmth is a system decision, not a slogan.

Qualified professionals

AHPRA-registered clinicians, CPSP speech pathologists, screened support workers, credentials verified, not implied.

Genuine companionship

We match on personality first. Your team is chosen for how they show up, not just what they can do.

Personalised delivery

No two plans look alike here. Every shift, session and report is shaped around one person.

Coordinated as one

Coordinators, clinicians and support workers share one care record, you never repeat your story.

Voices

The quiet difference, in their own words.

  • They read our plan properly, they read our son properly, and they built a team that actually understood him. It changed the tone of our whole week.
M.C. Parent of participant · Gold Coast
  • For the first time I have one person to call. My coordinator picks up. My worker turns up. My invoices are sorted. The mental load has halved.
    D.L. Participant · Brisbane
  • The OT report they wrote for my SDA application was the first one the NDIA actually accepted first time.
    Support Coordinator Sunshine Coast
  • Every worker who has come through our door remembered my daughter's routines by the second visit. That kind of consistency is rare.
R.T. Parent of participant · Ipswich
  • I asked for goals around cooking and getting to the gym. Six months later I am doing both, on my own, most weeks. That was the whole point.
    J.B. Participant · Logan
  • They took time to actually understand my communication device before writing my speech goals. That single conversation changed the plan we submitted.
    A.N. Participant · Redlands
  • The transition from hospital to home was handled without me having to project-manage it. I have never had that before.
K.W. Parent of participant · Toowoomba
  • Plan management is boring paperwork right up until it goes wrong. Ours has stopped going wrong.
    S.P. Family carer · Brisbane
  • I like that they say no when something is not in my plan, and then help me find who can help. That honesty matters more than they realise.
    L.M. Participant · Sunshine Coast

Read the full FAQ →
  • What does a Registered NDIS Provider actually mean?

It means First Light has been audited against the NDIS Practice Standards and is authorised to deliver funded supports across all NDIS registration groups. Registration signals a higher accountability bar for safety, staffing, and reporting than an unregistered provider.

  • How quickly can we start after a first conversation?

For most new participants we can start with a coordination or plan-management contact within one business day, and match a support worker inside two weeks. Complex therapy or SDA setups follow a longer discovery pathway, which we walk through with you upfront.

  • Do I need to be on the NDIS to talk to you?

No. If you are pre-plan, appealing a plan, or unsure whether you qualify, the first conversation is still free. We will point you to the right access pathway and, if appropriate, help you build the evidence a strong access request needs.

  • Which parts of South-East Queensland do you cover?

Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Ipswich, Redlands and Toowoomba, with in-home visits across greater SE QLD. Where a service is not local, we coordinate transport or use tele-therapy through a matched clinician.

  • Can I keep my existing therapists or workers?

Yes. Choice and control are central to the NDIS, and to how we work. We can act as coordinator or plan manager around your existing team, add specific supports where there are gaps, or replace only what you want replaced.

  • How is your team funded and how do fees work?

We charge only what NDIS Price Guide rules allow, itemised against the categories in your plan. Your first conversation and any pre-plan advice are free. If a service falls outside your funding, we will say so before booking anything.

Let's begin

Ready when you are.

Whether you are new to the NDIS or looking for a team that actually turns up, the first conversation is easy, and always free.
