Daily Living & Life Skills

Practical skills for greater everyday independence.

This service is about learning to do things yourself. Cooking a meal, doing the shopping, managing your money, catching the bus, planning your week, using your phone. We teach the skill with you, in real life, one step at a time — until you do not need us for it any more.

  • 01

People who want to do more for themselves at home

  • 02

Young people getting ready to live on their own

  • 03

Anyone who wants to manage money, shopping, cooking or travel better

Our approach

A three-step rhythm
we live by.

Every engagement follows the same beat: understand you first, deliver next, then keep it honest as your goals evolve.

  1. 01

    Understand

We pick one or two skills you want, and break each one into steps.

  2. 02

    Learn together

We do it with you, in your own home or in the community. Practice, not lessons.

  3. 03

    Hand it over

We do less and less until you are doing it on your own, then we pick the next skill.

  • 01

Cooking, meal planning and food safety

  • 02

Shopping, comparing prices and managing a weekly budget

  • 03

Managing money, paying bills and keeping track of appointments

  • 04

Using public transport and planning your week

  • 05

Using a phone and computer safely, and staying organised at home

Common questions

The things people
ask us.

03 questions
  • How long does it take to learn a skill?

It depends on the skill and on you. Some take a few weeks. Some take a year. There is no rush and no test.

  • What if I try and it does not work?

Then we try a different way. Everyone learns differently, and finding your way is part of the job.

  • Can my family be involved?

Yes, if you want them to be. Sometimes it helps if everyone at home supports the skill the same way.
